Blog Changes

Yesterday's post has been deleted. Thank you for all your comments.

In 48 hours I will be restricting this blog to invited readers only while I decide where to move it. Wordpress? Typepad?  I have just made a wordpress account and will try and get that sorted or else I will use typepad or livejournal. Any suggestions or advice about the move would be greatly appreciated.

I know this sounds very presumptuous but I can only 'invite' 100 readers. I know that around or more than that number of readers read gaijinwife on a regular basis.

If you would like me to 'invite' you please email me at gaijinwife at gmail dot com  - or if you don't mind having your email on a comment please comment to this post.

If I get more than 100 requests I will give preference to followers and regular commenters. Sorry if that seems unfair.

If I know you please don't think I will include you automatically. You may be sick of all my shit and therefore I will only include you if you ask me to.

Sorry for the shove around, especially as I plan on changing blogs soon anyway. I'm just not technically with it enough to get all this sorted in one night. Obviously, with all the time I have on my hands what with my two older kids being in day care 24/7 I may have loads of time tomorrow to sort it out. We'll see aye.

SDGH&QL

PS - I can invite you through any email address you state but you can only view the blog if you have a google account - which is very easy to set up and wont mean sending loads of money to an offshore account.

Oh dear, big changes indeed. I had typed a long comment yesterday but somehow hit the wrong key and managed to delete it. As it was late I didn't have the time to re-do it until now!! Perhaps best that I didn't get to give my two cents worth anyway.

Would love to continue reading and commenting. My addy:
ginafielding@hotmail.com

Must get a google account...

Hoping that things calm down in the Gaijin Wife household and probs back home get resolved if possible.

No advice about switching to Wordpress - I am a techno dinosaur and can't even upload photos at specific points in my posts. All pics end up at the top of a post which doesn't quite give the right message.

Hey GW
Best Wishes and Good Luck with everything.
I know we only really know each other through blogs and due to the surprising Kiwi connection ( then again, doesn't everyone know each other in New Zealand!), but you have given me some great advice and guidance in the past couple of years through your comments on my blog. Thank you.
I know you are going to have many people who know you in real life wanting to have access and as you are making it
private you probably only want you really know reading it anyway, but I just wanted to say I have really loved reading and hearing about your great kids and your hilarious perspective on life.

Hello GW,

I've been reading your blog ever since I arrived in Japan 2 years ago. I am not a comment person so you don't know me (yet). It's fair enough that I reveal something about me.

I gave birth to my daughter 3 or 4 weeks after you had your baby so your comments about pregnancy and being a mother in Japan helped me and still do. I remember when you gave birth I was reading your blog and my husband came home from work and asked me to do sth for him that involved going away from the PC. I got so angry that I could not finish reading that I was upset all night and the following day (I now blame it on the hormones).

So, you can imagine that I would definitely want to make it in the 100 readers of your blog. My email address is mirelalinaggmailcom

Thanks,

Mirela

Hello!
I'm neither a mum, a kiwi or a Japan resident, but I enjoy very much to read about your life in Japan and how you raise your kids, and I'll like to keep on do so. In my future there is the chance to became a expact mummy, don't deprive me of a good role model, 100 is a big number, isn't it? Mmm, to much praising I suspect ;-P
I can recommend LiveJournal, it have some nice privacy settings too.

Will be very sad if I can no longer get my fix of GW household news either last thing at night before I go to bed or first thing in the morning. I have been reading your blog since Ryu was born. I am neither from NZ a Gaijin in Japan, married to a foreigner, nor do I have very young kids ( I live in the UK and my kids are 12 and 15) but I do relate to your stories in many ways. If this is farewell, then good luck and take care..... Enjoy your trip home and hope all goes well for your Mum.

I missed your post yesterday (or the day before) too but seeing as someone said it was about your sister I am thinking I know what it was regarding. Damn, you know I feel for you.

My advice: detach.

I hope I make the cut- I think cos you are moving to wordpress though that there will be no limit on the amount of people you pass out the password too.

Talk soon and you know my email is always open- or phone too once I am back in Japan.

I'm so glad you haven't made your new wordpress site private (yet). I hang out for your posts every day! As an Aussie living in Japan and about to marry my lovely, crazy Salaryman (and eek, move in with my Japanese MIL), your posts always make me laugh - and when it comes to the exploits of Granny K, they scare me a bit! Thanks for letting me know what I might be in for very soon! I would hate to see you water down or censor your posts so just making some of them private might be the best option. Keep up the good work! Kirsty in Tokyo!
